Overstating the obvious

How long has it been since your last facial? Too long, I almost guarantee it. There is just nothing so wonderful as laying on a table in a peaceful room while a person works gently on your face with magic potions. When I woke up, my skin was flawless.

Impeccable, the facialist said. Ruth, who is my facialist, is 75, and she's awe-inspiring. She's this wonderful person with all this good energy. I just adore her. If you're good, and you're in the area I will give you her phone number, because I'm sure you need to lay on a table and be reminded that you are beautiful by somebody who's seen a lot of faces.

Ruth finds something beautiful in everybody, I think. That's what's so great about her. She worked on my eyebrows, too. My eyebrows, which were near perfect before, are above reproach now. They are utterly classic.

I guess the blood treatments are going all right. It's hard to tell. I feel a little more energetic, but for instance I don't know whether the pains in my legs are caused by the bloodwork or something else. It's so complicated.

I'm tired of having things complicated. Things were much easier when they were easy.

Duh.
