OK, now I'm scared.

Here's an interesting thing to do, courtesy of my pal Sue, whose URL I have now forgotten. My bad.

Anyway, you can plug in your skills and a computer program tells you what you want to be when you grow up.

Now, take three guesses what my results said: Public Relations Specialist. This makes sense, I guess; I have done a lot of PR work and studied public relations as a large part of my college journalism program. So I'm not sure if my bent toward that field is nature or nurture.

I'm hoping for "nurture" because if I really believed that flacks were born, not made, I'd be have to be even more frightened for the world.

On the other hand, when my little brother ran for elementary school student council president, he was the only one with a campaign manager. I'd done my own successful campaign a few years before and remembered some tricks. I should say "techniques," that sounds better.

Brrrr. On a completely unrelated note, I hereby declare summer over. Today I turned off the air conditioning system for the year, and I am wearing a wool sweater + turtleneck.

Random.. hey! I can still be random!

Is it sick and wrong that I'm riveted by watching the money come into the Dean campaign? It's really very cool

By 1:00 eastern, we'd raised about $14 million--$4 million of that has come in over the course of the last nine days. I don't know about you, but I'm very impressed that regular Americans like you and me can get together and give that much money in small chunks. The average is less than $100.

This is not necessarily a fundraising pitch, although if you feel like donating I think it'd be a fine idea.

That's my own personal fundraising page. I've never displayed it to anybody because I set it up by accident. (I really didn't intend to raise money.)

The picture at the bottom is a pretty little Maine Coon named Kelli who lives in Newfoundland, Canada, where Bush isn't president. I thought that was appropriate.

I mean to change the thing later this afternoon, but rignt this second I have to go buy solution for my contacts, and maybe cat treats. And make a bank deposit. And take some luggage to be repaired.

In other words, I have errands, and then I'll raise some money. And then I'll write something coherent.
