I'm so vain. I probably think this song is about me.

So, y'all know I'm a product whore, utterly without brand loyalty and always in search of something better than what I currently have. This is especially true where skincare is concerned. This is the one area where I spare no expense to make sure I don't get to looking wizened before my time. (And believe me, it's before my time.)

I had been using this line that my facialist recommended. At first it seemed to work miracles, but I hit a plateau. (Plus I got a couple of products I wasn't all that thrilled with, though the night cream is still one of the best I've ever used.)

The new line is Clientele, which is very chi chi although I bought it from QVC. (Don't laugh, QVC carries a lot of good lines that are hard to find other places, and I get a much better price than I would if I trucked up to Bergdorf's.) Their selling point is that the frumpy chemist that they had talking about it was a very ordinary looking woman wearing entirely too much makeup (and in the wrong shades if you ask me, not that you did) but her skin was flawless.

The line is all about antioxidants, which is good. I tried on all the stuff I bought this afternoon and noticed instant results from the eye serum. (The only place I have visible problems on my face is under my eyes. I'm still in better shape than most people my age, but that's not good enough.)

Anyway, I'm very happy with the Clientele stuff.

In other skincare related news, I finally went to the Sports Authority and bought a big fishing tackle box to store makeup in. I hope it's big enough. I am prohibiting myself from buying anything in certain categories, because I have enough makeup for several people and the stuff does have a shelf life. Verboten are brown eye shadow, all varieties of foundation, mascara even though I'm out of my favorite burgundy, and lip gloss, until I use one up. I could probably get away with gray or green eye shadows, but the gray would need to be matte because I have two different gray shimmers.... or three. I forget.

Oh yeah, no more dark red lipsticks unless I find something that matches the sadly discontinued Poppy Sheer Vanity. What the world needs to make it a better place is line of sheer matte lipsticks.

Koogle has spoken on this matter, now somebody should make it happen.
