Are you sure it's not "Maid-Rite" (never mind the images those actual words conjure up)? I never had one, but I vaguely recall printing their logo on hats or something once, so they must have been sold in or near my home town. I always thought they were just regular hamburgers. But then you've seen the place - it's more similar to Iowa than probably either wants to admit.
